Recommended Support Card Banners (Gacha Guide)

The support cards banner guide.

Recommendations on this page are from a competitive point of view. Only significantly notable banners are mentioned.

If you are a casual player or an Uma-focused puller, just keep in mind the "Must Pull" / Scenario Tax banners.

When it comes to Umas, pull your favorites :)

There are some important things to note before looking at the recommendations:

TIP

Every Scenario has a Scenario Tax Banner. These are Cards that are designed specifically to be used within the new Scenario, such as Riko Kashimoto .

While current Scenarios can be somewhat managed without the Scenario Tax Cards, they will become close to mandatory for most future Scenarios.

Because these Cards are so important, it is recommended for low spenders and players who primarily pull on Umas to save their draws for these Support Card Banners.

WARNING

The recommendations do not consider the state of your account or the number of Uncap Crystals/Guaranteed SSR Tickets available. Please use your judgement to find a balance between total cost and Card strength that makes sense to you.

Additionally, the recommendations are based on banners as a whole, not individual cards.

Some cards are very strong, but release in proximity to better banners and therefore are in the "Good, but not Great" category.

WARNING

After the First Anniversary, many of the Support Cards released will be more Style-specific. If you are a low to non-spender, be sure to cater pulls around your preferred Style.

DANGER

Most of the Support Cards must be fully limit broken (MLB) to be effective. Support Cards should generally only be pulled with at least 400 draws available.

If you do not have sufficient carats by the time a "Must Pull" banner arrives, focus on saving for the next one.

MLB SRs are generally better than most low limit break SSRs.

The following banners are generally worth pulling. Some banners may be for specific Styles only - this will be noted under the Banner if that is the case.

2nd Scenario: Unity Cup

Matikanefukukitaru (Speed) + Admire Vega (Power)

matikanefukukitaru + admire vega

🟨 Good, but not "Must Pull"

If you do not have enough Carats to pull on this banner, do your free pulls and save for the Narita Top Road Banner instead. If you do have enough Carats, this Card can be more valuable than Narita Top Road, except when training Kitasan Black (Uma). Kitasan Black pairs well with this Card, and most players will already have that Card at MLB.

Matikanefukukitaru is essentially a Pal Card during Trackblazer (MANT): It gets 5% RB at 3LB and 10% at MLB, so it has to be at the very least 3LB.

While Admire Vega is good for End Closers, it is powercrept by another Admire Vega Card in a month. Shortly after, Mr. C.B. Wit, another Card with the same Gold Skill, is released.

WARNING

Only consider pulling further on this Banner if you got lucky during your free pulls and snagged a Matikanefukukitaru copy or two.

If you want to use Admire Vega for Daring Strike, consider borrowing it.

Fine Motion (Wit)

fine motion

🟩 "Must Pull"

Until the release of Mejiro Ramonu in the 5th Scenario, Fine Motion is the best Wit Card and will be used in almost every Deck.

Because of her longevity and importance in the upcoming Scenarios, Fine Motion is a "must pull."

As she does not get 10 Race Bonus until MLB, it is recommended to MLB her for Trackblazer.

TIP

This recommendation is specifically for the Fine Motion + Kawakami Princess Banner. Future reruns of Fine Motion are a lot less appealing, as they happen too late.

However, if you do not have enough carats by the time this banner arrives, the universal advice to keep saving applies.

DANGER

Although the future (during Grand Live) Maruzensky + Fine Motion banner is a good in a vacuum, Umamusume Support Card banners should never be evaluated in a vacuum. By the time that arrives, Mejiro Ramonu is fast approaching. You will miss out on a top card for the entirety of Trackblazer (MANT) and a chunk of Grand Live if you choose to wait till then.

If you do decide to skip this FineMo banner, the recommendation switches to other cards entirely.

Do not be baited into pulling a card at the tail end of its dominance.

3rd Scenario: Trackblazer (Make A New Track, MANT)

Narita Top Road (Speed) + SR Admire Vega (Guts)

narita top road + sr admire vega

🟨 Good, but not "Must Pull"

This is the first Banner of the Trackblazer Scenario. While Narita Top Road is a very strong Card during Trackblazer, she is not used in future Scenarios.

The standout Support Card on this Banner is the SR Admire Vega (Guts) Card, which powercreeps the SSR Power version. While the Power SSR only has 10% RB, the Guts SR has 15% and is a core part of the Trackblazer Guts Deck.

WARNING

Wait until the end of free draws, and further supplement draws to get as many Admire Vega SR copies as possible.

Similar to Fukukitaru, only consider pulling for Narita Top Road if multiple copies were obtained through free draws.

If planning on training Kitasan Black (Trainee), consider pulling additionally on this Banner. As Kitasan Black cannot use the Kitasan Black Support Card, Narita Top Road becomes significantly more valuable for the scenario.

INFO

SR Uncap Crystals should be saved for Admire Vega (Guts).

Mr C.B. (Wit)

mr c.b.

End Closer Card

Mr. C.B. is a strong Wit Card for End Closers, as it provides Daring Strike along with having Straightaway Spurt and Tail Held High in its hint table.

TIP

This Card can be used at a lower Limit Break as it gains its 2 Wit Bonus at 1LB.

Maruzensky (Speed)

maruzensky

Front Runner Card

"Summer" Maruzensky is a very powerful Speed Card for Front Runners. She provides an important Gold Skill for Front Runners, and has many important Front Runner Skills in her hint table.

DANGER

Due to its proximity to the next Scenario Tax Banner, it is NOT recommended for low spenders to pull on this Banner unless...

TIP

If you are a dedicated Front Runner player, you should save up to be able to pull on both.

4th Scenario: Grand Live

Scenario Tax: Light Hello (Pal) + Agnes Tachyon (Speed)

light hello + tachyon

🟩 "Must Pull"

Light Hello is mandatory as the Scenario mechanics are not fully unlocked without her.

Agnes Tachyon is a strong Speed Card and can still be used as a second slot Speed Card after the Scenario. She also remains viable for Pace Chaser players, especially on Medium Tracks.

TIP

Players who pulled Maruzensky can justify pulling less on this banner, but make sure to get Light Hello .

5th Scenario: Grand Masters

Mejiro Ramonu (Wit)

mejiro ramonu

🟩 "Must Pull"

Mejiro Ramonu powercreeps Fine Motion .

She is the best Wit card for around 2 years and is a must pull. On top of this, she has great hints for Mile and Medium Tracks.

Ancestors & Guides (Group)

ancestors & guides

🟧 0LB or Borrow

Ancestors & Guides is the Scenario Link Card for Grand Masters. It has a strong Skill table containing corners and straightaways skills for various distances, as well as a strong gold skill.

Running this Card in the Grand Masters scenario will also drop one of three Skills, Blessing of the Sun, Blessing of the Land, and Blessing of the Ocean. Blessing of the Sun and Blessing of the Land especially are important Skills to inherit via parents, and continue to be relevant in the modern-day Japanese Meta, 2.5 years later.

WARNING

This card has a strong argument to be borrowed (in contrast to every other "Scenario Tax") as it does not come with another strong card and is at an unfortunate time in the banner schedule.

mejiro ramonu, the elephant in the room

Mejiro Ramonu directly beforehand is the "elephant in the room" for Carat priority, and many critical Style-specific cards are coming up. Additionally, Ancestors & Guides strangely does not release at the start of Grand Masters.

It's reasonable to pull if you have the budget and want the slot flexibility, but be aware of the timeline.

Mihono Bourbon (Wit)

mihono bourbon

Front Runner Card

Mihono Bourbon Wit has good Stat growths, and a strong Skill hint table in Early Lead, Fast-Paced, Groundwork, Left-Handed ○, and both Firm Conditions ○ and Wet Conditions ○. Additionally, the Card’s Gold Skill is the upgraded version of Groundwork.

Jungle Pocket (Speed)

jungle pocket

🟨 Good, but not "Must Pull"

Late Surger / End Closer Card

Jungle Pocket is one of the better Cards for Late Surgers and End Closers, but can be used on other Styles. Along with its strong Stat gain, the Skill hints are mostly for Medium Races, rather than being Style-specific.

Among the hints is one of the game’s first Current Speed Skill, Surging Beat. This Skill works differently from standard Target Speed Velocity Skills: Instead of needing to accelerate to reach the new higher Target Speed, Umas receive an instant boost to the Current Speed. Unlike Velocity Skills, Current Speed Skills are effective while accelerating.

DANGER

Due to its proximity to El Condor Pasa , it is NOT recommended for low spenders to pull on this Banner.

6th Scenario: Project L'Arc

Scenario Tax: El Condor Pasa (Speed) + Mei Satake (Pal)

el condor pasa + mei satake

🟩 "Must Pull"

El Condor Pasa is the first Speed Card that formally powercreeps Kitasan Black after 2.5 years. When she has max Bond Gauge, she gives 2 SP Bonus, along with 1 Bonus to all Stats. In addition, El Condor Pasa ’s Chain Event lets you choose between “Check”, a very powerful Accel on Tracks where the final 600m mark is on the final Corner, and Professor of Curvature.

Mei Satake is the Scenario Pal Card, and is a must pull. While MLB is recommended, at least 1LB should be acquired for the SP Bonus.

Mejiro McQueen (Wit)

mejiro mcqueen

Pace Chaser Card

Mejiro McQueen is one of the strongest Wit Cards for Pace Chasers on release. On top of solid Stat gains, the Card has a Skill hint table that is useful for Pace Chasers. Her Gold Skill, “Send It Flying!” is a strong mid-race Skill.

Sounds of Earth (Stamina)

sounds of earth

🟨 Good, but not "Must Pull"

Sounds of Earth is the best generalist Stamina Card since Super Creek . Not only does this card have a Skill hint table of strong mid-race Skills, she also provides a choice between Beeline Burst or Breath of Fresh Air from her Chain Events.

By this Card’s release, the 2nd Anniversary balance changes will have been implemented: Beeline Burst is now one of the strongest Velocity Skills, and Breath of Fresh Air will be changed from activating on any Straight to only Straights in the mid-race. This makes it one of the most consistent Gold Recovery Skills.

WARNING

Due to Super Creek 's longevity, this banner is not as recommended for low spenders.

Air Shakur [9th Scenario] is a future card that is a more meaningful upgrade from Super Creek .

Satono Diamond (Wit) + Duramente (Speed)

satono diamond + duramente

Late Surger Card

The surprising winner of this banner is Satono Diamond , a strong Late Surger card that is worth pulling for those dedicated to the Style.

The more commonly mentioned Duramente is a card that is even stronger in Speed gain than El Condor Pasa. However, El Condor Pasa is generally recommended over this card due to her 2 Skill Point Bonus and 1 All Stats Bonus.

DANGER

Due to the existence of El Condor Pasa , it is NOT recommended for low spenders to pull on this Banner unless...

TIP

If you are a dedicated Late Surger player, you should save up to be able to pull on both.

7th Scenario: U.A.F. Ready GO!

Scenario Tax: Ryoka Tsurugi (Pal) + Orfevre (Guts)

ryoka tsurugi + orfevre

🟩 "Must Pull"

Starting from the Third Anniversary, Scenarios begin releasing in 4-month intervals. This desyncs Scenario Banners from Anniversary Banners.

Orfevre is the first meta Guts Card to be released. As Highlander decks become stronger in each scenario, Orfevre is used in most decks. Prior to her release, the welfare Haru Urara Card was used when Guts Cards were needed.

Ryoka Tsurugi is the standard Scenario-linked Pal Card, and must be pulled.

INFO

"Highlander deck" refers to decks that have one Card of each Stat.

Narita Taishin (Wit)

narita taishin

End Closer Card

Narita Taishin is an End Closer-specific Wit Card with great Stat Growths and important Skills.

DANGER

Due to its proximity to the next Scenario Tax Banner, it is NOT recommended for low spenders to pull on this Banner unless...

TIP

If you are a dedicated End Closer player, you should save up to be able to pull on both.

8th Scenario: Great Food Festival (GFF)

Scenario Tax: Nishino Flower (Power) + Yayoi Akikawa (Pal)

nishino flower + yayoi akikawa

🟩 "Must Pull"

Nishino Flower , while being a Sprint and Mile-specific Card, is a must pull. This is because during this Scenario, all PvP Events were either Sprint or Mile.

Yayoi Akikawa is the Scenario Link card for the Great Food Festival Scenario. The Scenario mechanic is not fully unlocked without her, and therefore she is also a must pull.

Smart Falcon (Speed)

smart falcon

Front Runner Card

Smart Falcon is the best Front Runner Speed Card on release. She is the first source of Taking the Lead since Mejiro Palmer, who was released 2 years prior.

Still in Love (Speed)

still in love

🟩 "Must Pull"

Still in Love is an extremely strong generalist Speed Card which will be viable for the next year. She has Medium and Backline Skills, along with giving a lot of SP.

As this Card will also be run outside of Medium Tracks and Backliners, it is highly recommended to pull on this Banner.

9th Scenario: Mecha Uma Musume

Air Shakur (Stamina) + Daiwa Scarlet (Wit)

air shakur + daiwa scarlet

🟩 "Must Pull"

Air Shakur remains the strongest Stamina card released to date, outside of Style- and Distance-specific Cards. She is a must pull.

Daiwa Scarlet is also the strongest Front Runner Wit card released to date. Most importantly, she has 60% Hint Frequency and +4 Hint Levels, meaning every hint hit will be at max level. Combined with a Skill hint table that is highly relevant for Front Runners, this Card will be a staple in Front Runner decks.

Mejiro Ardan (Power) + Symboli Rudolf (Wit)

mejiro ardan + symboli rudolf

Pace Chaser / Late Surger Card

Mejiro Ardan is a Card with a Skill table dedicated to Pace Chasers, especially on Mile and Medium Distances. She also has good Stat gains and 2 Skill Point Bonus.

Symboli Rudolf is a generalist Card with good Stat gains and a widely applicable Skill table. However, since Front Runners and End Closers already have dedicated Wit cards (Daiwa Scarlet and Narita Taishin, respectively), players of these Styles do not have to pull this card.

10th Scenario: Twinkle Legends

Scenario Tax: Almond Eye (Speed) + Embodiment of Legends (Group)

almond eye + embodiment of legends

🟩 "Must Pull"

Almond Eye is the strongest generalist Speed card currently. With 15% Race Bonus, 2 Skill Point Bonus, 20% Training Effectiveness, and 120 Speciality Priority, Almond Eye can train Speed by herself. Additionally, she provides some of the best generalist Skills, such as both Beeline Burst and Professor of Curvature.

Embodiment of Legends is the Scenario Tax Group Card, and must be pulled to fully play the Scenario.
