Acceleration Skills Explained
See Skills Explained for other types of skills.
The primary purpose of acceleration skills is to assist Umas in reaching their Target Speed. In other words, these skills are only useful when the Uma is not yet at their Target Speed: At the start of the race and the Accel Zone.
WARNING
Acceleration skills that activate in the mid-race such as
Tactical Tweak provide little to no value, as the Uma will already be at their base Target Speed.
Another factor to consider while evaluating activation conditions for Acceleration Skills is consistency. While consistency is often contingent on the Track, Skills such as
Angling and Scheming and
Straightaway Spurt with final corner/final straight requirements are persistent across multiple tracks. On the other hand, Skills with Track Condition or random corner/straight conditions can be inconsistent. For more information, refer to the Racecourse Analysis section.
