UL Season 2 Team Bios and Preview
Hello everyone! It’s the dawn of a new season for UmaLeague, with 6 returning teams and 5 teams making their debut! This article features every team, as well as their members, and at the end of the introductions we will rank who I believe would be favorites to make the postseason! Here’s hoping for another exciting and amazing season!
Before we get started, since we will be most likely having multiple editions of these articles, I’d like to introduce myself first! My name is Scarlet, a former UL player and was a part of the Velocity championship team back in season 1! I love Agnes Tachyon a lot and my main styles are Pace Chaser and Front Runner. These articles are my thoughts only and with the help of the lovely editors, I’d want to post these often so the whole league can read them and give me feedback of any kind and to have fun reading these articles.

Team Velocity
Captain: Pik
Members: Apol, Birb, Hjax, JJay, Julac, Moi, Ninjat
Can you keep up the pace? The reigning champs from season 1 have come back with mostly the same starters, and an entirely new bench. The departure of Scarlet meant a new starter to come in to fill in their shoes and they brought in the other most known Agnes Tachyon main in Ninjat as well as Apol who’s a flexible player to come in to fill in certain roles when needed. One of the most impressive MANT debutants, Julac, departed from FISH to join Velocity as well and Birb is a notable content creator with a lot of knowledge of the game already to boot to help the team through the season. The remaining 4 starters are well known enough: JJay and Moi being MVP candidates from last season, Hjax being an amazing tournament player and winner of Offkai, and Pik being one of the best captains in the draft scene. This team will encounter a harder season this time around, but I believe in their chances as a former member and champion with this team, no bias here I swear!.
Twoma
Captain: Spadez
Members: Nycromancer, Ishimorin, Luseless, Mega444, moo, Toph, Vaan
The number 2 who can’t wait to topple the 1. The second place from last season, Twoma, didn’t change their roster much during the offseason. Their notable starters remain but once you know what their new addition is capable of, you will understand why this team didn’t need to do much housecleaning. Ishimorin has joined 2MA with the capabilities of being a formidable starter in their own right, being one of the best Front Runner mains from last season in draft after ending up as overall number 6 on the ELO leaderboards. Their well-rounded team as well as this scenario being more friendly to their style of drafting makes me believe they can be back to where they ended up last time, maybe with a different ending this time? Spadez is already a capable captain with an MVP-like season last time and their roster loves to pack the pace and front groups, leaving Late Surgers and End Closers facing them at their mercy. The only thing that can stop them is scheduling.
Fishy Miracle
Captain: Benni
Members: Kontrol, Beiku, duck, Gerbear, Kashou, Spice, Sky
A miracle has been witnessed over the pond, and it is a Fishy Miracle. No longer branding themselves as Asian Flash, Fishy Miracle is now a new team in both its appearance and team structure. While some players like Spice, duck, and Beiku remain with their captain Benni, their new additions from the offseason are out of this world. Duck was already one of the rising stars as a Front Runner main even with weaker cards, but now she has obtained the power of Speed Tachyon and now has a real deck to unlock her true potential. Along with Spice and Benni bringing overall improvements to their accounts, their offseason additions will make you think this team has the best chances to bring it home. Kontrol, Gerbear, Kashou, and Sky are all notable players in their own right with Kashou being one of the best players who played at RDD last season. Gerbear is one of the best End Closer mains in drafter right now and finished as top 3 in the ranked ladder last season. Finally, we have Sky who is one of the best Front Runner mains in drafter, and finished top 7 in last season's leaderboards. This is a terrifying team in strength and one of my favorites to win it all, this fish is not to be taken lightly.
Team Cyborg
Captain: Happydr
Members: andy, Basil, Chrll, juice, Veritea, Xeri, xo
This cyborg doesn't need any upgrades to keep up with the rest. Cyborg is the only team with no notable changes at all to their starting roster and, when you see how they did last season, there’s not much to be changed to still be contenders. One of the strongest overall teams from last season, they are still contenders and there’s really nothing more to say. Happydr is a notable tactician for drafter, making them one of the best teams at strategizing. Xeri will soon have another Brian to play with this season making things already more terrifying while Veritea is one of the best Pace Chaser mains on the block which is key for this season. Chrll being an MVP candidate from last season means their performance should translate well into the next season. This team is very self-driven like an actual cyborg and no doubt their immense strength and knowledge will stay strong for this season, definitely one of the favorites to win it all for sure.
Umaparty
Captain: Koyu
Members: Azu, Vin, Catbomb, Charles, mattmario, Kalu, peter
The party has started once again, more prepared for any party crashers this time. Umaparty is back and with the same team for the most part. Last season they were one of the scariest teams but fell short in the playoffs coming out of it with no wins. There is much to be reviewed by Koyu and the rest of the team and they hope this season their strategies will pan out well. They are still one of the capable teams in the league with experience behind them, however, I wish to see more from them this year especially with harder opponents coming to crash their party this time. Catbomb, an MVP candidate from last year, is still one of the players to watch out for and everyone here has been building the strongest parents in the server since then. I will be wary this time with their season forecast but who knows, the night is still too young to call off the party.
Super Evil Biterz
Captain: Ridjer
Members: Aries, Alt, Archam, Cyrin, Fufu, rewand, Tian
It seems like the lucky sleepers have finally woken up and have become evil biterz! This team was one of the most fun to follow last season thanks to their crazy close games and wild end of the season game vs Lovestruck. Now they have come back and undergone an evil transformation, with a notable replacement. Last season MVP candidate Constellations left the team for another and now they have a large hole in their starter roster as a result. Cyrin, their answer for the hole, is a capable player in their own right but unfortunately isn’t enough to fill the gap for an MVP-like season. Still, despite the low expectations they still have one of the best players from last season in rewand and their chaotic draft strategy will still leave teams old and new confused and off guard. I hope that things go well for my colleague in Ridjer and hope that his season will end up unscathed and well
Team Ambition
Captain: Eracfles
Members: Bandit, Cpoke, ghostbomb, Lavisorrow, Maki, Stitch, Congee
These players follow their team name quite well if I do say so myself. Team Ambition is one of the debutant teams for this season of UmaLeague and they are quite the ambitious group of rookies looking to make a name for themselves. Led by Eracfles, a dangerous Maruzensky oshi in drafter and well-regarded Front Runner, these players are all quite powerful and could be one of the dark horses coming into the season to win it all. Their End Closer specialists include Cpoke and Lavi and remaining players like Congee, ghostbomb, and Bandit fill out the middle pack to snuff out any accel procs for the other players. That said, will their ambition lead them to glory or will it lead to ruin with their rookie experience?
Cinderella Gray
Captain: Mephis
Members: Blurrwolf, Bravo, Chainpullz, Constellations, potato, Ramie, Yunaka
The clock has nearly struck midnight for this team during play-ins stumbling, losing slippers along the way. However, this Cinderella story has not finished and will continue into the new season as a debutant team. Two former members from SLS and one from FISH have joined this new team: Mephis and potato being two strong Front Runner players with their Seiun Skies and Constellations the Oguri Cap guy who was an MVP candidate from last season who is still threatening at (and addicted to) drafter. Yunaka, one of the best hogs players from last season, is also a returning veteran still providing amazing flexibility. Their rookies in Blurr, Bravo, Chain, and Ramie make up the rest of the roster with Blurr being a threatening End Closer with the other mascot for the team, Tamamo Cross, and Taiki enjoyer Bravo being a formidable Pace Chaser player. No doubt that when this team is having a good day they will be able to take down any opponent, this is a Cinderella story to watch out for.
Cluegi
Captain: Juno
Members: Crow, Isaac, Northernlion, Rengshu, renko, Sam, Shadow
New and improved, the remastered Cluegi is finally releasing this season as a debutant team. This team is quite enigmatic, as they only played 3 games in the play-ins, now facing the same full season as the other newer teams. Their team is filled with Pace Chaser mains with only one recognizable End Closer player in Northernlion who was a former Asian Flash member from last year. Juno and Shadow are two Front Runner mains who are threatening in their own right, especially the latter who won a previous Carat Clash tournament before, so they are a special player with that feat in mind. The team is completed by a dear colleague who is the founder of the infamous ueuepuppy, Crow. She is a flexible player whose former team (FTP) unfortunately dissolved in the middle of play-ins so she will take this second chance with something to prove. Will the remaster of Cluegi be able to live up to its original release or is this team simply another modern gen slop cash grab that will cost 80 dollars, disc not included.
Digi Dirt Devils
Captain: Pantros1
Members: Breezy, cameran, Flo_nighty04, Lenticular, luwucien, lyon, yuri
The fiends from the sands have risen and are ready to get down and dirty! Digi Dirt Devils is another team that is represented by mostly raecord players. This team had an impressive play-in campaign winning their first 3 games in spectacular fashion. Their strengths lie in their ability to handle any type of drafts, whether it be sprints/mile, dirt drafts, or medium/longs. That success as well as their passion into their oshis, such as Lyon with Yaeno Muteki or flo_nighty with Copano Rickey, makes them a fun team to spectate for the season. I applaud their accomplishments in qualifying here and am hoping for some fun drafts with them involved!
DraftNFamily
Captain: Babybossk
Members: Adardoniel, Aknama, canvas, Keeby, Neon, Rainplosion, Yelow
They’re not just DraftNFriends, they are also DraftNFamily. This family of drafters is one I have close ties with, having competed with them in a different tournament. Make no mistake, this debutant team is very experienced once you see who is on this team, with Aknama and Keeby being former RDD members, who had strong results in the ELO leaderboard last season, and Yelow, a former Hogs member. Everyone else is notable for being one of the strongest queuers in regular 5v5 ranked matches and they had a strong play-in resume being a perfect 4-0 team. I have high expectations and hopes for this team to make it far when they have strong players like Adar, Neon, Rain, Canvas, and their captain Babybossk. And always remember, there is room for family. Always.
Scarlet's Picks: Season 2 Outlook
Hope you all enjoyed the descriptions I had posted for each team, now here is the centerpiece of the article which will consist of my very own thoughts! Please note these are all my own opinions and do not reflect the thoughts and opinions of UL.
What teams do I believe will be in the postseason?
If I had to name just 6 teams that I am confident in, it would be the following
● Cyborg
● 2ma
● Velocity
● Umaparty
All these teams have the most notable draft experience from the past ranked seasons as well as from the prior season of league play. DraftNFamily might be one of the few new teams to be favorites to be in the dance, their team on paper looks the strongest and has the most chemistry by far compared to the other newcomers.
What teams do I believe are “on the bubble” based on preseason expectations?
I will say that this season will likely be very competitive and every win and loss will matter much more than usual with 11 games for each team, making upsets grand in scale here. Based on that, some teams that I believe are playoff contenders but need a bit of extra firepower are the following
● Ambition
The reason I have these teams on the bubble is because of their recent exposure to league play, which is especially true for the majority of Ambition’s players. Both of these teams have some things in common, such as their solid draft IQ and the individual strength of each player. I believe Mephis can be a great captain but will have to weather the storm whenever things go sideways and Ambition does have to be careful not to be outsmarted by the veteran captains in drafts.
What are some “long shots” of the league?
No offense to these teams, I truly believe that they are strong in their own right and I congratulate them for a season in UL. However, they are in a tight spot and may be considered “long shots” in that they seem to not have proven their skills just yet. They are free to prove me wrong however!

That said, I look forward to seeing all of them perform when the time comes and I am hoping for the best! Never take this opportunity for granted, you can never know when it can be your last competition in 5v5.
