Release Schedule October
This month brings two Umas that were meta in the JP version for a long time. Narita Brian (Blaze) is a very strong Pace Chaser for Long distance races, while Kitasan Black (New Year) is a very strong Front Runner for Medium distance.

New Uma: Zenno Rob Roy
Named after a Scottish folk hero who was immortalized in a novel, Zenno Rob Roy's Uma design goes all in with an outfit inspired by traditional Scottish garb and a bookworm persona. She is a Pace Chaser that can also run as a
Late Surger, but one of her gold skills is
Race Planner, which is Pace Chaser only. Her other gold is
Refraction Arc, the gold version of
Medium Corners ◎. Her unique,
Raise My Soul's Blade!, activates 400m before the finish line and needs her to be in the top 4. She gets bonus Speed when she is in a G1 race (which Champions Meetings are) and is a top 3 favorite. While Zenno Rob Roy is fine as a Pace Chaser, she is not outstanding. She faces stiff competition at Medium distance, and Pace Chasers struggle at Long distance with one exception, who is incidentally on the next banner.
Support Card Re-run:
Light Hello SSR &
Mayano Top Gun SSR
By now you will be familiar with Light Hello. If you have not pulled for her yet, you get another chance here. Light Hello is a very strong Pal card, especially in Grand Concert, because she directly interacts with the scenario mechanic. Her gold skill
See Ya Later! is universally good.
Mayano Top Gun was released back on the initial Christmas banner. While she has a chance to give you
Head-On, her gold skill is
Restless, a Front Runner uphill recovery. She is strong at MLB, if niche.
October 8th - October 16th - Champions Meeting Sagittarius Cup

Nakayama 2500 - Right - Good - Cloudy - Winter
The Sagittarius Cup takes place this month. Please see our CM20 guide for more details!

New Uma: Narita Brian (Blaze)
Narita Brian (Blaze) is the definitive Pace Chaser at Long distance. This is due to a combination of her skill set and her unique.
Free From the Ashes comes in two forms. First, a late-race Speed Skill that activates when she is in the top 4 on the latter half of the final corner. Second, if she was also blocked in mid-race and it is a Long distance race, her target speed increases by 0.55, which is very powerful.
Beast Mode offers late-race acceleration for Pace Chasers at Long distance, provided she gets to within 10m of the lead of the race in the late mid-race, at the 60% race distance mark or later. Brian also has
Hot Pursuit to help her with that, a mid-race Speed Skill that goes off when she overtakes.
Overall, Narita Brian (Blaze) is very strong in Long distance races. Notably, her powerful unique does not translate into an inherited skill, since it also counts as a 0.15 Speed Skill.
New Support Cards:
Yamanin Zephyr SSR &
T.M. Opera O SR
Yamanin Zephyr offers a +2 Skill Point Bonus when her Friendship Bond is at least 80, as well as 15% Training Effectiveness at MLB. Her Skill Hints are mostly Mile distance skills, with
Slipstream in her chain. Her gold skill is
Ambitious Breeze, a Pace Chaser Speed Skill that activates in mid-race if she is within 5 meters of the lead but not in the lead herself. Her Training Effectiveness, SP bonus and relatively low Speciality Priority means she's a functional Roamer, though unlike
Fine Motion, she is a
Guts Card, which is harder to justify adding to your deck in Grand Concert.
T.M. Opera O is quite solid as far as SR cards go. Her list of Skill Hints is quite long and focused mostly on
Pace Chaser hints, most notably
Head-On. Like all SR Support Cards, she is not worth pulling for, and she will find her way into your collection eventually.
October 15th - October 18th - New Event: "Sparkly Magic Show"

Sparkly Magic Show is a community event similar to the Falco Fan event. This time around, everyone has to collect ornaments. The number of ornaments you receive per run depends on your Rating divided by a thousand, meaning a run with a 15k Rating will net you 15 ornaments. While there is a community aspect to the event, there are personal missions to complete as well. They are:
| Ornaments Required | Item | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | 50,000 | |
| 30 | 20,000 | |
| 40 | 20 | |
| 50 | 1 | |
| 65 | 100,000 | |
| 80 | 50,000 | |
| 100 | 1 |
The event also features a short two-episode story and a Concert Theater and Jukebox song to accompany it.
October 19th - October 25th - Legend Races: Arima Kinen

This time we face off against Mejiro Palmer and Daiwa Scarlet. Taking part in the races will yield the usual rewards in the form of
Carats for defeating them for the first time, and their respective Star Pieces for taking part in the race over a few days with the ultimate reward being
2 Gold SR Crystal Shards and
1 Rainbow SSR Crystal Shard
October 20th - November 1st - Story Event: "Happy New Future"

It is time for the New Year, at least in the Umaverse. This story will feature Special Week, Sweep Tosho, Grass Wonder, Kitasan Black, and Satono Diamond.
Our story support card will be Grass Wonder, whose gold skill is
Cooldown. Like all welfare cards, she is rather weak, and you should have other sources of gold recovery skills.

New Umas: Kitasan Black (New Year) & Satono Diamond (New Year)
Kitasan Black (New Year), also dubbed "Kitasan White", is a very strong Front Runner for Medium distance. Her kit includes
Escape Artist,
Taking the Lead, and
Groundwork, all highly desired skills.
Her unique,
Bring on the Banquet!, goes off 600m before the finish when she is on a corner and offers both acceleration and a current speed increase, which is very powerful. This also makes her a very good parent.
Kitasan Black (New Year) is a highly anticipated Uma, and quite a lot of players have her on their pull plan. However, it will be some time before she can reign at Medium distance, as the remaining Champions Meetings in Grand Concert are Long, Sprint, and Dirt Mile. Two paid Uma Selectors will be available in the store at the 2nd Anniversary, where she can be acquired.
Satono Diamond is a Late Surger specialized in Long distance races. She comes with
Stamina Siphon, a hybrid Stamina Recovery and Stamina Drain Debuff. She also has
Claw Forward, a Long distance Late Surger Acceleration Skill that activates at the Last Spurt at the cost of some Stamina. Her unique,
Rain Cloud Bolt, activates in mid-race, increasing her target speed and recovering some Stamina.
New Support Cards:
Special Week SSR &
Sweep Tosho SSR
Special Week is another source for
No Stopping Me!, a useful Acceleration Skill. This card also has plenty of Skill Hints, mostly for Medium and Long distances. Unfortunately, her stat output is rather weak due to a low Specialty Priority.
Sweep Tosho increases her Specialty Priority by 40 after her Friendship Bond level hits 80. Her gold skill is
Razor-Sharp Steps, an End Closer Acceleration Skill that activates in the first half of the late race, provided the Uma was not rushed and stayed in 5th place or worse until 2/3 of the race.
Begins October 20th - "New Beginnings, Part 1"

The second New Year event on Global starts here and includes a multitude of goodies. To start, you receive 150
Carats a day for logging in at the start of the event, up to a total of 450 Carats. Afterwards, there is another round of extra daily login rewards. The first and second day rewards 1500 Carats and every subsequent day gives 300 Carats for a total of 4200 Carats.
Trainers can also indulge in half-TP careers and an increased hot spring ticket chance during the Senior Late January Raffle event outside of Trackblazer.
During the celebration, trainers can draw a fortune once that always rewards triple Career race rewards for 3 days! The duration is based on when you draw the fortune, meaning players can draw it at a later date and still receive the full duration of the bonus.
Star Pieces of Tamamo Cross and Seeking the Pearl can be earned by racing in the Kyoto Kimpai and Shinzan Kinen, respectively.
Most importantly, the featured New Year banners will have 50 free pulls each*, starting with the Support Card banner. If you prefer, you can choose not to log in to the game during the Support Card free pulls to stock up and have 100 total pulls on the featured Uma banner instead. Stocking up can only be done once!
Paid Banners
The event features four banners that offer a guaranteed 3* Uma or SSR card at random for 1,500 paid
Carats. We have already had several of these paid banners. On paper, the offer sounds enticing: for just a ten-pull in paid Carats, you get a 3* Uma or SSR card. But the outcome is entirely random.
If you want to take a chance, here are the banners:
| Banner Type | Included Banners |
|---|---|
| 3* Uma | From Launch to Haru Urara (New Year) / T.M. Opera O (New Year) |
| SSR Support | From Launch to Admire Vega Power SSR / Matikanefukukitaru Speed SSR |
| 3* Uma | From Sakura Chiyono O to Narita Brian (Blaze) |
| SSR Support | From Sasami Anshinzawa Pal SSR / Tamamo Cross SR Guts to Special Week Stamina SSR / Sweep Tosho Wit SSR |
October 24th - November 6th - Banners

New Uma: Hokko Tarumae
Hokko Tarumae is a Dirt Pace Chaser, and her unique,
Shine On, Tomakomai! ☆, is a Dirt-only Acceleration Skill. It activates late-race when she is 3rd or 4th and has enough Stamina to enter Last Spurt mode. However, there is a pre-condition that requires her to be blocked for 2s from either side on a corner. If all of this is fulfilled, she gets the standard 0.4 acceleration. Her gold skills are
Calm and Collected, a Pace Chaser gold recovery, and the Dirt-only Speed Skill
Trending in the Charts!
Pace Chasers are usually locked into positional requirements. Hokko does not break the mold. Her biggest problem is that other strong Pace Chasers are usually brought to Dirt races.

Support Card Re-run:
Agnes Tachyon SSR &
Tokai Teio SSR
This banner features two very strong Support Cards.
Agnes Tachyon is a staple in Grand Concert for every deck due to her innate Skill Point Bonus. For
Pace Chasers she will stay relevant for longer because of
Unstoppable and the many strong Skill Hints she provides.
Tokai Teio is an excellent
Wit card that provides
Professor of Curvature. She came out right between strong banners, so it is good to have her in a re-run here. The monarch here also has plenty of good Pace Chaser Skill Hints.
Begins October 27th - "New Beginnings, Part 2"

The second part of the New Year event does not include as much as Part 1. It features an extra Team Trials reward chance, increased Daily Race tickets, and Star Pieces for Mejiro Bright, Eishin Flash, and Tosen Jordan for the Nikkei Shinshun Hai, Keisei Hai, and American JCC, respectively.
October 8th - October 16th - Champions Meeting Capricorn Cup

Chukyo 1200 - Left - Firm - Sunny - Winter
The final CM of the month is a Sprint race. Keep an eye out for our CM21 guide on the website when it is published!
