Lane Movement Skills Explained
See Skills Explained for other types of skills.
Outside of one skill, Lane Movement Skills do not force Umas to move between lanes, simply amplifying the speed of Lane Movement. While moving between lanes with a Lane Movement Skill active, Velocity increases. Because of the precondition of Lane Movement, these Skills often have little effect outside of specific examples.
INFO
The Velocity gained depends on several factors, but will generally be around 0.5m/s, equivalent to a Gold and White Skill.
Dodging Danger
Dodging Danger is a unique Lane Movement Skill that makes the Uma move to the outermost Lane one second into the early-race. If the Uma is blocked or cannot move to the outer Lane for any reason, this skill will have no effect.
Lane Movement Combo
One use for
Dodging Danger is the Lane Movement Combo, consisting of
Dodging Danger,
Prudent Positioning, and
Ignited Spirit WIT, also known as DDPPAW.
The process is as follows:
Dodging Danger procs one second into the race, moving the Uma into the outermost Lane.- While in the outer Lanes and the innermost Lane is empty, Umas will attempt to move into the innermost Lane.
Prudent Positioning and
Ignited Spirit WIT amplify this Lane Movement and increases the Velocity of the Uma.

WARNING
As Velocity is only increased during Lane Movement and is independent from Lane Movement Speed, it is recommended to take
Ignited Spirit WIT over
Burning Spirit WIT. The faster Lane Movement of
Burning Spirit WIT will shorten the duration of Lane Movement and lower the Velocity gained.
DANGER
Dodging Danger by itself will force the Uma to Wide Swing on the first Corner and lose several Lengths.
Prudent Positioning and
Ignited Spirit WIT is mandatory to move the Uma back into the innermost Lane as fast as possible. While either
Prudent Positioning or
Ignited Spirit WIT can be taken, it is recommended that both are taken for consistency as either can fail to activate.
WARNING
The Lane Movement Combo is only consistent on Tracks with long initial Straights. On Tracks with short No-Zones such as Nakayama 2500m,
Prudent Positioning and
Ignited Spirit WIT can fail to activate before the first Corner and cause the Uma to Wide Swing.
